Purple poser steals the limelight

Not that we wish to detract from the main news of the day - but Tony Simpson's pictures taken at 11.07am on North Marsh probably merit it really.  The purple heron apparently went down river - but like the great white egret is probably around somewhere in the environs still (now there's a photo op!):
